Areas I work with and reasons for seeking therapy

There are many reasons why people enter counselling. Below are some of the more common areas which I work with along with a brief description of how Counselling can support. Please keep in mind that for some of these other forms of therapy will be required to work in conjunction with counselling. Click on each link to learn more.

Addiction - Focusing on the causes of the addictive behaviour and working to address these

Anxiety - Exploring the origin of the anxiety and looking at the thought process in the situations which cause anxiety

Bereavement/loss - Exploring the emotions and developing coping strategies to move through the difficult period.

Bipolar disorder - Focusing mainly on the depressive symptoms and building a support network

Depression - Working through the range of emotions experienced and looking at addressing the root causes

OCD - Exploring the factors which may sit behind this and working with the feelings having the condition induces

Relationship problems - We will explore the problems and help you to find a resolution which allows you to move forward 

Self harm - Together exploring the issues which may be causing you to self harm

Stress - Exploring and addressing the causes of your stress and looking at other ways to respond to challenging situations
