About me and my Counselling
I currently live in Mansfield , East Midlands with my wife Lynsey and daughter Aisla. From an early age I had a passion for helping those in need and this has grown over the years. There are so many challenges we face in life and it's easy to feel overwhelmed and under-prepared. Sometimes it's just nice to talk to somebody to gain a different perspective on some of the things which may be worrying us. I originally began my private practice in South Yorkshire, before moving it down to Mansfield where I have been working with a variety of clients for the last 6 1/2 years.
I gained 'A' levels in Psychology and English before going on to complete my B.Sc (Hons) degree in Applied Social Studies. I subsequently obtained a Masters Degree in Psychoanalytic Studies, which is where I decided I really wanted to go into Counselling. I have experience in Mental Health, writing and delivering training on a national level to over 350 staff and managers. I am now a professionally qualified and accredited Psychotherapist and have co-written a book on relationships, which was published in 2015. You, me and us is available to purchase from the Living Life to the Full site. Click here for the direct link. As of April 2021, we are currently penning the second book in the series. In addition to this, I spent around 3 years as a guest columnist for the Mansfield Chad where I wrote articles around a variety of mental health topics. You can read some of the articles here
In 2018, I began writing a book around domestic abuse on men, with input from my supervisor Eric Hoskins. I aim to have this published at the end of 2021. In June of 2020, I received notification that I had been nominated by Global Health and Pharma for an award in the 5th annual Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards.
I firmly believe we all have the right tools to cope, but sometimes we can have problems locating these and that's when a Counsellor can help. By empowering you to explore your feelings and understand your goals I will help you to locate those tools and take control, equipping you not just in the here and now, but also for the future.
I have now achieved Professional accreditation from the National Counselling Society having completed substantial post qualification clinical hours (over 1000) and CPD, and work within the BACP ethical framework.
If you have any questions I am always happy to have an informal chat with you prior to your first session.
